Hours you can prove. Pay you can trust.
The Workforce PRO app notices when operatives arrive on site and when they leave, proposes the hours, and puts a checked timesheet in front of your site manager. Approve it, and Genius pays it — no paper diaries, no Friday phone round.

Friday afternoon is a phone round
Hours written up from memory days later, then re-typed by someone in the office. Every step is a chance to pay for time nobody can evidence.
- Paper diaries and WhatsApp photos of timesheets
- Paying for hours nobody can prove were worked
- Site managers chasing sheets instead of running the job
- Disputes with no evidence on either side
- Nobody can say who is on site right now
The phone keeps the diary
Arrival and departure are captured at the site boundary, so the hours start from a fact rather than a memory.
- Arrival and departure recorded automatically at the gate
- Hours proposed to the quarter hour — the operative confirms
- Site managers approve site by site in minutes
- Approved hours become the pay run and the invoice
- Every query, edit and approval kept on the record
From the site gate to the payslip
Five steps, three people, one set of numbers.
- 1Operative
Arrives on site
The phone recognises the site boundary and records the arrival — even with no signal.
- 2Operative
Leaves
Departure recorded. Lunch and breaks applied the way the order says.
- 3Operative
Confirms the hours
Hours proposed to the quarter hour. They check, correct if needed, and confirm.
- 4Site manager
Approves
One site, every operative by day. Approve, or query a day with a note.
- 5Genius
Pays
Approved hours priced, CIS and PAYE deducted, payslip and pay text sent.
Everything between the gate and the pay run
Built around how construction sites actually run — boundaries, breaks, deadlines and the people who sign off.
Know who arrived, where and when
Every site gets a boundary. The Workforce PRO app notices an operative crossing it and records the arrival — no card readers, no terminals at the gate.
- A boundary per site, with a radius you can widen for big or awkward sites
- Arrival, departure and location accuracy kept with every visit
- A signal that fires twice at the gate is one arrival, not two
- Works with no signal — the real time is sent once the phone is back in coverage
Time on site isn’t always time paid
Eight hours on site with an unpaid lunch is seven and a half paid. The app does that arithmetic the way your order says, so nobody argues about it on Friday.
- Lunch length and paid or unpaid, set once on the order
- Tea breaks and waiting time come off paid hours
- Hours on site shown next to paid hours on every timesheet
- Everything to the quarter hour — the same grain as the timesheet
Sign off a whole site in one pass
Site managers open a period, pick a site and see every operative by day. Approve what’s right, query what isn’t, and move on.
- Period → site → worker-by-day grid, built for a phone or a laptop
- Query a single day with a note — the operative is told straight away
- Reopen and correct without starting the sheet again
- Hours your office enters on someone’s behalf are labelled as such
Deadlines that chase themselves
Every client has a timesheet deadline, and the system works to it — so the Friday phone round stops being somebody’s job.
- A reminder to the operative when a visit hasn’t been confirmed within 12 hours
- Visits left unconfirmed for a week are dropped on the record — never paid on a guess
- Late sheets flagged to the team before the payroll cut-off, not after
- Absence recorded as a reason — holiday, sick, no-show, site stood down
Who’s on site right now?
One list per site of who has arrived, with each operative’s photo — so a site manager can put a face to every name.
- Live arrivals by site, on the client portal and the app
- “Are they coming?” — ask a no-show directly from the list
- Every site on a map, so you can see the whole job at once
- The same view for your office, your site managers and ours
From approved hours to payslip
Approved hours are the pay run. Nobody re-keys a diary, and the invoice is built from exactly the hours you approved.
- Hours priced on the placement’s rate card — basic, overtime and the rest
- CIS and PAYE deductions worked out and filed for you
- Payslips and a weekly pay text to every operative
- Your invoice built from the same approved hours — one set of numbers
Most systems stop at the timesheet.
We pay it.
A time-and-attendance tool gives you a spreadsheet of hours and leaves you to run payroll, work out CIS, file with HMRC and answer the operative who thinks they’re short. With Genius, the hours your site manager approves are the hours we pay — and the HMRC responsibility sits with us, not you.
Time & attendance questions
Do we need to install clocking-in hardware on site?
No. Operatives use the Workforce PRO app on their own iPhone or Android phone. There are no terminals, card readers or fingerprint units to buy, mount, power or maintain.
What happens when there’s no mobile signal on site?
The phone records the arrival and departure with the real time, and sends them when it is next in coverage. Basements, tunnels and rural sites are covered.
Can an operative just change their own hours?
The app proposes hours from the time on site; the operative confirms or corrects them. Any change sits next to the recorded time on site, so the site manager sees the difference before approving, and every edit is kept on the record.
Does the app track operatives all day?
No. It only watches the boundaries of the sites an operative is placed on, and only records arriving and leaving. There is no tracking between sites or outside working time.
How are lunch and breaks handled?
You set the lunch length on the order and say whether it is paid. Other breaks — tea, waiting on materials — always come off paid hours. The timesheet shows both hours on site and paid hours.
What if someone works on two sites in one day?
Each site has its own boundary, so each visit is recorded against the site it happened on and lands on that site’s timesheet.
What if an operative forgets to confirm their hours?
They get a reminder after 12 hours. A visit still unconfirmed after seven days is dropped — on the record, with the reason — rather than paid on a guess.
Can our office fill a timesheet in instead?
Yes. Your team, or ours, can enter hours for an operative. The timesheet is clearly labelled as filled in for them, and they are told.
How quickly can we get going?
Once a site has an address and your operatives are placed on it, the app picks the site up the next time it opens. There is nothing to install on site.
